ATHLETICS: A pupil from Boswells School, Alex Woolnough, 14, has had an amazing athletic season.
After breaking three school records this year in the 100m, 200m and high jump, he has now won the Essex Schools 200m title.
On top of that he has been selected to represent Essex in the prestigious National Schools Athletics competition which is at Alexandra Palace in Birmingham.
Assistant head of PE at the school, Steve Sims, said: “This is the highest standard any athlete can compete at for their age in the country, showing what an amazing achievement this is.
“I wish him luck in the 200m and hope he comes back with a personal best.”
