CHELMSFORD Chieftains made a terrific start to the National Ice Hockey League South 2 season - scoring 14 goals against Lee Valley Lions.
The Chieftains were 14-1 winners, with Courtney Grant and Bradley Moore scoring hat-tricks.
Terry Fillery got the first goal inside two minutes before James Ayling scored twice to make it 3-0. Lee Valley got their only got at the end of the first third only for six second period goals to stretch Chelmsford advantage.
Moore and Grant scored with Charlie Phillips, with James Dimond and Ross Brears (two) also netting ahead of the final third.
Grant and Moore completed their trebles before the close.
