ALI Carter made it two wins from two in the early part of the new season as he made light work of Basem Eltahhan to progress to the World Open.
The Chelmsford player had advanced to the Riga Masters several days earlier with a 4-0 victory against Billy Joe Castle.
And he was able to progress without losing a frame once again in Preston against the underdog from India.
Carter hit breaks of 98 and 82 to advance to the World Open, the second competition of the season which gets underway next month.
He will take on Rory McLeod in the first round of the competition in China.
But Carter’s next return to the table will be at Riga, in Latvia, where he will face either Ryan Day or Jamie Cope in a first round match.
