A GROUP of volunteers from Stock has been recognised by the Queen.
The Young ME Sufferers Trust, also known as the Tymes Trust, has been chosen to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Tymes Trust was singled out for its tireless work pursuing the educational rights of children with ME, and working to improve their care.
Jane Colby, who is a former headteacher and executive director of the Young ME Sufferers Trust, said: “It is a wonderful honour to have our work recognised by the Queen.
“ME devastates children’s lives.
“It is potentially severe and chronic and is the biggest cause of long-term sickness absence from schools.”
