The summer months often see plenty of different events take place, and if you're into your food and drink there will be a few festivals happening in Dorset in 2024.

There will be loads of festivals and events dedicated to delicious dishes and cuisines across the county over the next few months.

Christchurch Food Festival

Christchurch Food Festival will be taking place over the bank holiday weekend of May 25-27, and it's completely free to enter.

There will be a number of cooking demonstrations from chefs, tastings, interactive workshops, live music and much more over by Christchurch Quay.

Its website adds: "Whether you’re a devoted foodie, an aspiring home cook, or simply looking to immerse yourself in a vibrant atmosphere filled with delicious aromas and flavours, the Christchurch Food Festival promises an unforgettable experience."

Highcliffe Food and Arts Festival

Highcliffe Food and Arts Festival describes itself as a "great culinary celebration and a fun community street party in one".

Visitors will be able to take in "gourmet artisan stalls, fabulous street food, celebrity chefs, cookery demonstrations, live music" and much more.

It will take place across Highcliffe High Street and the village green over the weekend of June 8-9.

Upton House Food & Music Festival

Upton Country Park near Poole is the setting for this particular festival which will take place over the weekend of June 14-16.

Alongside the live music, there will be a huge variety of street food and quality drinks to take in.

This includes loaded fries, crepes, ice cream, fudge, pizza, nachos, bratwurst, duck wraps and a tonne of choice for burgers.

Swanage Fish & Food Festival

Taking place over the weekend of June 15-16 the Swanage Fish & Food Festival promises to take visitors on a "tantalising journey through all things fishy and delicious".

As the festival's name suggests there will be stalls offering a huge variety of fish, cockles, mussels, scallops and oysters.

Additionally, there will also be live cooking demos from top local chefs, showing how to create perfect fish dishes.

The event is held at the Prince Albert Gardens and is free to attend.

Bridport Food Festival

Bridport Food Festival will be taking place on Saturday, June 15 in conjunction with the Bridport Beer Festival.

Run by the Bridport Local Food Group, their aim is "to promote and support the fantastic food and drink that Bridport and the surrounding areas have to offer."

It will be taking place at Askers Meadow from 9am to 5pm, with advance tickets on sale for £3.50 from the Bridport Tourist Information Centre.

Alternatively, you can buy a ticket for £5 at the gate on the day.

Weymouth Food & Family Festival

Lodmoor Country Park will be hosting the Weymouth Food & Family Festival once again, which will happen over the weekend of July 27-28.

It will have plenty of food and drink producers on show, alongside cooking demonstrations, live music, companion dog shows and a variety of arts and craft vendors.

Great Dorset Chilli Festival

The Great Dorset Chilli Festival is back for 2024 at the Stock Gaylard Estate in Sturminster Newton, with it taking place over the weekend of August 3-4.

Tickets will go on sale for the event in late May at the website here.

There will be plenty of great things to eat there including Thai curries, Caribbean curries, Indian curry, samosas, lamb burgers, Greek kebabs, bratwurst and much more.

Alongside that, there will be chilli eating competitions, chilli plant competitions, chilli sauce competitions and live music.

The event organisers add: "There will [be a] selection of beers, ales and cider to calm the tingling tongue. We’ll even have chilli cider, but if all you need is ice-cold lager, we’ve got that too."
