POLICE have arrested a man and a woman after drugs, cash, a gun and a knife were seized during a stop and search operation in Chelmsford.
The incident took place in Elm Road at 2.40am yesterday.
Pc Graham Thomas tweeted about the incident with pictures showing what was taken during the search.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A 35 year-old woman from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, a public order offence, assaulting a police officer, a possession of firearms offence, and possession of an offensive weapon.
"A 41 year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, a possession of firearms offence, and possession of an offensive weapon.
"They have both since been released under investigation."
