TODAY, Chelmsford’s luxurious £3.5m Everyman Cinema opens its doors (Friday December 16).
With five main screens, Rogue One, Sully, Moana and Fantastic Beasts will show, with a plenty more screenings already billed for the New Year.
Crispin Lilly, company director said before the launch: "It’s been a long time in the making but we’re thrilled to be opening our doors, to bring Chelmsford our unique Everyman Cinema experience.”
The art-deco venue's New Years showings already include La La Land with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, Jackie, with Natalie Portman, as well as event screenings from the Royal Opera House and the National Theatre.
Bespoke comfortable sofas and armchairs with side tables line each cinema, all with individual colour themes seating a 301 capacity.
Guests will be treated to Everman's famous table service, while the Spielburger restaurant will offer a varied selection of food and drink.
Meals range from antipasti sharing platters, pizzas, burgers, and drinks include Pinot Grigio, Chablis, beers, ciders, cocktails and soft drinks.
A ticket to Everyman is £13.80 for adults and £9 for children.
Mr Lilly continued: “It will cost a couple of quid more than your usual viewing venue.
“But you can go to an average cinema, watch an average film and have an average night, but this is about making sure people have great nights.”
The cinema, part of the £120 million Bond Street development, is the chain’s 20th UK site with two others set for next year.
