CHOIR members at Chelmsford Cathedral are inviting people with a passion for singing to join them.
A mass group is being formed on Saturday March 1 with singers of all ages and ability being asked to join regular choir members for a rendition of Vivaldi’s Gloria and Pergolesi’s Magnificat.
The annual come and sing event has proven popular in the past with performers coming from Buckinghamshire and Suffolk to be part of the fun.
With the public performance beginning at 5.15pm, rehearsals will be done during the day starting at 2pm.
Conducting the piece will be Laurence Lyndon-Jones accompanied by James Davy on the organ.
Mr Davy said: “This is a great opportunity for all those who love singing, but because of their busy life schedules are not able to commit enough time to joining a choir, to come and sing.
“Here is the chance to sing two of the most enjoyable choral works ever written in a large choir of enthusiastic singers.
“Last year was a great success and I am looking forward to another equally enjoyable afternoon.”
Registration costs £10 per person and anyone interested in taking place should visit www.chelmsfordcathedral.org.uk or call 01245 294498.
