Geoff and I were quite close friends for a while. We first met when he arrived in Braintree Model Railway Club full of enthusiasm and questions. I was rather surprised when he set up his business and even more so when he later opened his shop after I left the area. He somehow made it work for years, which could not have been easy. It was what Geoff loved and, back when I frequently attended exhibitions, I regularly recommended him nationwide whenever I was asked for a dealers name. Geoff once insisted that I make a kit of a class A8 locomotive for one of his customers which I duly did. Apparently all went well and I was showered with beautiful brass kits in return lol! The only time I ever made a kit for resale for anyone.
Always sought out his amazingly warm welcome when I spotted Geoff at exhibitions all over the place, he always greeted me as if we had never been apart. Lovely guy. Sincere Condolences to Geoff's family.
