ARTIST Grayson Perry has won a Bafta for a documentary he made about British taste.
The Chelmsford-born 53-year-old who attended King Edward VI Grammar School picked up the gong in the Specialist Factual Programme category for his 2012 production All in the Best Possible Taste.
During the three-part series shown on Channel Four, Perry created six tapestries based on the lives of people he met while visiting Sunderland, Tunbridge Wells, Kings Hill (Kent) and the Cotswolds.
Perry, who won the Turner Prize in 2003 for his pottery work featuring sexual imagery, accepted the award at the televised ceremony in London dressed as his female alter-ego Claire.
